I think This works better in B+W than the colour one below
Looking for the surreal in the everyday. Those little transitional juxtapositions that happen in life.

Beautiful day to combine
Just a great day to combine the love of my MR2 and taking photographs. I am fully aware they lack artistic depth, but that does not reduce my enjoyment in taking them.

Watermead
Well; for a change, I went walk about with the cam rather than drive about.
Some random pics from the day. Had set cam to DNG+jpeg fine and jpeg was set to in cam B+W.

50mm Bokeh shootout
From a post on a car forum I visit, someone asked if I had direct comparrison shots of the different look, feel, taste and texture, or Bokeh of the various lenses I had mentioned. No. was the answer, But quite intigued myself. So whilst out n about stopped off and took some pics. Set tripod up to maintain perspective and angle. Light was very flat. Whilst may not have helped. (not sure)
So the lenses in question are the Summar (1936), Summitar, Summicron (collapsible) Elmer-M (collapsible), Canon F1.4 in LTM and a 7Artisans F1.1. DOH! forgot to bring the Taylor Hobson Anastigmat.
I mention the age of the Summar as it just tickles me that an 83 year old lens still works in itself and mounted to a modern digital camera. Marvellous.
(note to self, how on earth did I end up with 6, 50mm lenses) make that 7.
Apologies for the iffy exposures. Not paying attention. And straight off the chip as normal.

Bokeh? 90mm vs 50mm 2.8 vs 1.4
So, finding myself in the same spot as last week at roughly the same time thought I would play around with things depth of field. Subject has not moved between shots but lens has been changed between 90mm and 50mm. Both shared the 2,8 but then to add perspective or bokeh, the 50mm was opened to 1.4. the last two shots were then re framed closer to accentuate the effect.
So we open with the 90mm at 2.8 focused on the sign
Then 90mm on the 2
Swapped out for the Canon 50mm at 2.8 focus on the sign
Canon 2.8 on the 2
Keeping everything else the same opened the Canon to 1.4 and focus on the sign
Same position now focus on the 2
And just to ramp it up, moved closer.
And a portrait shot to close

Flat light
Out and about stopped off and took a snap with the M and Elmar combo also took a couple with the phone.
Flat and fading light nothing special, just nice combining two interests. Had a little play with selective focus.
